Employees Involvement
Involving employees in all aspects of the business has been the cornerstone of our success. This might explain why we are consistently in the ‘Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For’ and received commendation for our culture, team sprit and people development. The ‘More’ programme is our flagship initiative for employee involvement and is comprised of two key elements:
‘More Giving’ is about taking responsibility for the social and environmental impact we have on the world around us. In recent years we have participated in a number of projects which have benefited charities and community groups, as well as promoting a sense of achievement and positive team building experiences.
The ‘More Giving’ scheme means every UK employee can now devote 1 day per year to making a difference - to their Community, the Environment or to a Charity. That’s a potential 16,000+ hours we, as a company, are making available for employees to tackle issues they feel passionate about.
The ‘More’ website lists creative fundraising ideas to inspire and motivate our staff, not that they ever need much help! All the fundraising money goes towards our charity of the year partnership, voted for by staff on a yearly basis.
‘More Green’ is our way of giving something back to the environment – raising awareness about recycling, ethical purchasing and reducing the amount of energy we consume.
Michael Page are proud consumers of Green Choice energy which is the most environmentally sound electricity option available in the UK. Green Choice supplies electricity from a mixture of renewable sources.
Michael Page also work with Bizz, the UK’s leading independent supplier of business electricity - officially confirmed as providing (a remarkable) 11% of its fuels from renewable energy sources.
Recycling and responsible energy consumption are of the utmost importance here at Michael Page. Over the last 12 months all of our employees have embraced the culture of saving and recycling paper, switching off computers and lights and striving to be more environmentally aware in general.
Together, Michael Page and Page Personnel earned a SITA Certificate of Recycling. Over the course of the year, we recycled nearly 166,000 kilos of paper, saving 2,789 trees in the process. We also conserved 49,193 kilowatts of energy and reduced landfill by 821 cubic meters.
